Don't forget, you have until tomorrow night to enter the scavenger hunt posted on Tuesday. Also, you have until then to comment and be entered into the drawing for a copy of Along for the Ride :)

And remember, Along for the Ride releases this Tuesday!! So, if you're not one of the winners, stop by your local bookstore or Amazon.com and check it out! :)

**********

**Ali: First off, Michelle, I want to thank you for being a guest this week on Simply Ali ;) I also want to let you know that I just loved reading 'Along for the Ride' and look forward to the next book. Where did you get the idea for this series?

*Michelle: Thank you so much for having me! Of course I’m thrilled to hear you loved the book. The series is such a fun one to write. I wanted to write a book about sisters since I’d had done brothers. They really do take a different approach. The sisterly bond is something special. It’s being so close you can finish sentences or say what the other person’s not saying. It’s knowing ‘no one can mess with my sister but me’. And sometimes it’s manipulating them for their own good. LOL This series is also built from several things I wanted to research and learn about—entomology, crime scene photography, police detective, culinary chef (that one’s coming next in Recipe for Disaster)

**Ali: You write in so many different genres, did you always know you wanted to do that or did it start little by little?

*Michelle: It happened gradually. I started out writing nothing but straight historical romances to prove to myself I could. One of those first books went on to win the RT Reviewers’ Choice Award this year, Maiden and the Monster. Before I even tried to publish, I had several manuscripts done. Some are still in their cyber vault waiting for a home. They haven’t even seen an editor’s desk. After writing a few historicals, I tried my hand at a contemporary, then a dark paranormal. It all just kind of happened. I still love the historical, but writing in multiple genres enables me to keep a fresh head when writing because I approach them all with a different frame of mind. It’s nice to be able to go from a lighter straight contemporary to a dark paranormal.

**Ali: Out of all the books you have written, which is your own favorite?

*Michelle: That’s too hard. I like them all for different reasons. I love the Tribes of the Vampire and Realm Immortal series for the giant world building. Maiden and the Monster is a favorite. I just loved the characters. Futuristics have been really good to me. Fans love them. There are a few I don’t like as much, but I won’t say what they are because fans do and I’m just being picky. LOL

**Ali: Speaking of having written many books... how do you do it?! lol. What's your schedule like now?

*Michelle: I love my job. I constantly work. Switching genres helps. Practice really does play a part in it. I am a queen at multitasking and can handle several things at once. My schedule is always pretty hectic. I’m happiest when I’m busy and have something to do. I don’t really spend too much time just lounging around. If I’m watching TV, I’m also cleaning or folding laundry, halfheartedly reading a research book and taking notes.

**Ali: Can you let us in on what you're working on?

*Michelle: I’m working on a new series that isn’t aimed at any one publisher right now. It’s just a story I felt like telling. As for what readers have a hope of seeing in the near future—I just finished Recipe for Disaster the next book for Virgin Publishing. It releases next spring. For Ellora’s Cave, I just finished edits for Call of Temptation the third book in my Call of the Lycans series. For NCP, I’m waiting for a release date for the next installment in the futuristic series, Space Lords.

**Ali: I know you must have a busy writing schedule right now, but when you do get a chance to read, what are some of your favorite reads?

*Michelle: I love my partner in crime’s books, Mandy Roth. She’s great and such a pleasure to write with. Robyn Carr, Kelley St John, Jaci Burton, Jaycee Clark, Lauren Dane, NJ Walters—all sweethearts! It might sound strange, but I tend to give a chance to authors who I’ve found to be nice first. I’m about to read an ARC of Anne Tourney’s Lying in Mid-Air, due out this December from Virgin Books. And I’m looking forward to Jaci Burton’s Hunting the Demon which was just released last month.

Thanks again for having me, Ali!

Thanks Crystal! Sorry I was behind answering all the posts. This week just ran away from me. I looked up today and it was Friday. LOL, I don't even remember there being a Thursday.

Have a great weekend!
